What I did

What I did

Reading
This week I have been reading a book called Infernal Devices by Philip Reeve. For reading I 122.56have made my own version of the book cover. I chose to draw my own cover version of this book  because I really enjoy doing art and liked the theme of the story.

Writing
For writing we had to start a plan of a story. I chose the theme of horror. I didn’t know how to make a horror-like story, so I watched one of the videos. To try to make my horror story, I decided to use the video called ‘Sounds from a Haunted House’ as inspiration for my haunted house story. The video was just sounds, so I tried to make it a little bit more intersting than just that: So I used some of the sounds as characters.

Mathing
For math we had to make a weekly menu for a family of four ( two adults and two children ) and listed menu items.
I did the weekly menu and recipes, amounts of food items used, converting measurements, creating a shopping list and working out costings for both the shopping items bought and how much I used for the menu. For the recipes I used the Edmonds cook book. I also used this book for working out measurement conversions eg cups of flour and rice into grams. Tablespoons into ml.
 I had a budget of $200 and I used $122.56.
It was really hard work, but I enjoyed it. I even helped my mum make Lasagna one night.

TV  School Programs

I have been watching some of the learning programs on TV. I watched all of the Aotearoa History program which was really interesting.

  1. Hi Bronte,

You have been busy during this period of working from home. This blog post doesn't do it justice.

Did you write this on a doc and then copy to your blog? See the way the writing goes over the edge of your blog? This happens when you copy and paste from a doc to your blog. However, if you make sure you use ctrl-v to paste this shouldn't happen. How about you try to fix this and let me know if it works?
