Masks in Theatre

Masks are used in theatre to represent a character in performances. The tradition of theatre masks goes back to ancient Greeks who would make masks to use in theatre to carry dramatic effect. Actors wear masks so the audience can see the expressions a lot more clearly. And from what I know it can also be good for comedy. Some masks can be made to use as an animal because it would be hard to train animals for pefromeses or other mythical creatures or people.

 

🔔Themed Bells🔔

Here at Hornby High school we don’t have ‘normal’ bells. Although we do only have them in the massive auditorium. But everywhere else, we have MUSICAL BELLS. Sometimes if there’s a special event that is going on around New Zealand the bells will change to fix the event.

This week’s music is from the band Six60. For the 17th to 21st of May is the song ‘All She Wrote’ And this song is based over a relationship break up. The girl leaves him and writes in a note about her departure.

The Six60 band has 6 members, Matiu Walters, Marlon Gerbes, Chris Mac, Eli Parwai, Ji Fraser and Hoani Matenga. The Band Six60 formed in Dunedin some time in 2008.

I love the Themed bells here at Hornby high school. Many other schools do have bells like these but at my primary school they only had one song all YEAR. So I’m very happy that this year we get to listen to all different types of songs.

Highlights

My BIGGEST highlight of term 1 was Mr Cairns. I don’t want to be rude Miss Beer, I still love you! 

I loved the classes with Mr Cairns because all of his classes were fun.

I liked music class with both Mr Cairns and Miss Bremner, I loved to watch the videos with Miss Bremner and it was super fun to play the music and most importantly the cup song.

Challenging

Be forced on my work, If it was something I didn’t really like I would almost never complete my work. This is something I want to work on for term 2 and well the rest of my life…

Goals

I would love to be more forced on my work like I said in Challenging. I can easily get carried away and do something other than my work.
