For Hurumanu 1 / Outstanders, we have been looking at our article for our level. I’m in group 3 the highest group working on an article called ‘How To Be Normal’
We had to answer questions, use sentences with words we were given, find adjectives from the article and do a quick true or false challenge.
Did I understand?
Who did Charley bang into?
Charley banged into Michaela's desk while walking to her desk.
'Charley's at... More relaxed.' What is the main message/purpose of this paragraph? How does the author create this mood? What does it teach us about Charley?
This paragraph is teaching us about Charley and how she feels about herself. She’s feeling that she is weird and that she’s different from the other children.
What impression does the author want to give of Charley? How do you know?
The author gave us the impression that Charley feels weird and wants us to feel sympathetic for her.
Why is Charley angry with Amy? Do you think that she is right to be angry? Why/why not?
Charley is mad at Amy for standing up for her, and thinks she’s ruined her chance of having an in-joke with Michaela about bumping into her. I believe that Charley is wrong for being so mad at Amy all because she was trying to stand up for her.
Find a range of words and phrases to show how Charley is feeling throughout the story.
