Aim:
I want to find out how to tell if something is an acid.
Method:
Equipment
- Beaker
- Red Cabbage
- Hot water
- Test tubes ( Test rube rack )
- Acid + hydroxide
- Dropper
Instructions
- Get your equipment
- Rip the red cabbage into little bits
- Place your ripped red cabbage bits in the beaker
- Pour 100 ml hot water into the beaker
- Slowly pour the acid into the one out of the bigger test tubes
- In the other big test tube, pour hydroxide into it
- Add the red cabbage water into the two big test tubes ( Use a dropper )
- Mix ( with the dropper ) both the acid and hydroxide into little test tubes and try to make different colors.
Results
I made red, green, blue and purple by mixing the acid and hydroxide.
I also made a tube have orange, blue, green and purple.
